Open House & Community Showcase
The Food Hustle Vendor Lab is completely free for participants who meet the eligibility requirements and are accepted into the program. While there is no financial cost to participate, participants are expected to commit to attending sessions, completing assignments, and actively working on developing their food business concept throughout the program.
No. You do not need a registered business to apply. This program is designed for youth who are in the early stages of exploring or building a food-based business idea. Certifications such as a Food Handler Certificate, food safety training, or other permits are beneficial but not required for this pilot.
The Showcase is an opportunity for participants to present their food concept to the public at the Building A Dream Foundation Open House & Community Showcase. Participants will receive feedback from community members, practice customer engagement, and may have the opportunity to generate sales depending on their offering.
Applicants must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age.
- Reside within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), with preference given to residents of Scarborough.
- Be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Have an interest in developing a food or beverage business concept.
- Be available to attend the 4-week program beginning July 15, held every Wednesday at 6:00 PM, as well as participate in the Building A Dream Foundation Official Launch & Open House.
